A little fresh snow

3rd February 2024

Another windy day with scattered showers which fell as snow above around 850 metres in the morning, slightly higher in the afternoon. Limited visibility for photos on Ben Nevis today. Showers are due to continue through the night and tomorrow although turning to rain below 1050 metres in the afternoon. Strong winds continuing although decreasing through the afternoon tomorrow. This will lead to some windslab development in sheltered locations as detailed in the report.

A milder day to follow again on Monday

Some new snow at the top of Number 4 gully, Ben Nevis, and the beginning of new cornice development. Evidence of climbers tracks in the foreground. Only limited new snow here at midday today, accumulations continuing to develop this afternoon (Saturday) and throughout tomorrow as detailed report though.
