Mild, wet and windy

12th March 2023

Not so nice on the hill today. After overnight snow to low levels with strong South-Easterly winds, the freezing level rose to summit level, the wind veered South-Westerly and the snow turned to rain except on the higher summits this morning.

Some photos from Aonach Mor below. Not much in the way of views today.

Looking up the Goose gully. Fresh snow in the gully with older snow to the right looking darker in colour.

The Goose at Nevis Range. Note the roller balls coming from my footprints in the bottom left of the photo, indicating wet snow instability.

This snow accumulated in the lee of the fence last night and was thawing today.
