A big overnight thaw

Last night saw a dramatic thaw with the 1200m temperature being above freezing for a 4 hour period with a maximum temperature of 2.1 degrees. This, coupled with some heavy rain, created a period of instability, but as the freezing level dropped this morning, the snowpack fairly quickly started to consolidate and stabilise
