Strong SE winds

13th December 2020

The Scottish Avalanche Information Service would recommend that those wishing to enjoy the winter mountains refer to Mountaineering Scotland and Scottish Government advice regarding Covid-19 and outdoor activities.

On Aonach Mor strong SE winds are generally also experienced at mid and lower levels on the NW slopes. This was the case today with 30mph winds at the top of the forest and 30-40mph (gusts 50-60) at 600m.
