Mild and wet (again)

28th December 2019

It was a mild, wet and windy day. The freezing level was well above the highest summits and the snowpack was thawing.

Apologies for the blurry photos caused by rain on the camera lens.

A melting snowpack at Nevis Range, Aonach Mor.

Looking up Aonach an Nid.

The only fresh snow today was from the snow factory which was producing snow faster than it was melting resulting in this large pile. The temperature here was around 8 degrees.

The snow factory snow is actually small pieces of ice.
