Great views

30th March 2019

After an overnight freeze and a dusting of fresh snow it was a pleasant day with generally good visibility. The old snowpack had a frozen crust which felt icy on skis but was breakable on foot in most places. Aspects receiving a reasonable amount of direct sun, such as Coire Dubh on Aonach Mor, softened and gave some nice skiing conditions.

A dusting of fresh snow on Aonach Mor.

The Grey Corries from the West.

The Western end of the Mamores ridge. The largest area of snow in the centre of the picture is on Sgurr a’ Mhaim.

Aonach Beag from Aonach Mor.

Carn Mor Dearg with Ben Nevis behind.

Skiers descending Summit Gully on fairly firm snow.

Some large cornices remaining above Coire an Lochan.

Looking down into Coire an Lochan.

A shed load of snow.
