Thawing

16th February 2017

A warm wet day with snow only on the very highest summits. The thin snow covering which has been making the hills look white recently has mostly thawed leaving much blacker hills with patches of snow. Low cloud gave poor visibility above around 700 metres.

Looking up the Allt a’ Mhuilinn – much less snow cover and much more water in the burn.

Two walkers contemplate crossing the Allt a’ Mhuilinn – they got there but I think their feet would be very wet.

Looking towards Coire na Ciste from the CIC Hut. Cloud obscuring the view (fortunately/unfortunately?).

A glimpse of sun above Glen Loy.
