Inside a PingPong Ball.

13th February 2017

It was a day of strong South-Easterly winds. While lower levels enjoyed some sunshine, the higher summits were in cloud all day. The cloud and blowing snow gave whiteout conditions, it felt like wandering around inside a pingpong ball. It was wintry on the hill, but with rising temperatures I am not sure how long the wintry feel will last.

Welcome to the whiteness. A lone walker somewhere near the summit of Aonach Mor (or inside a giant pingpong ball)

Rimed up raised footprint forming interesting shapes.

Testing conditions for our kit.

Sunshine below about 800 metres. The ominous cloud cap hung around all day.
