Another Fine Winter Day

28th February 2017

It was another fine winter day. There was enough wind in some places to start eroding the soft windslab that is found on Easterly aspects. However, plenty of soft and not that well bonded snow remains.

A recent avalanche in Coire an Lochan from Sunday night. The crown wall is just left of the lens flare. It ran out of shot, and continued for another hundred meters or so.

Carn Beag Dearg catching the wind. The wind was quite variable, with some areas really catching the wind, while other on similar aspects much calmer.

Ben Nevis and Carn Mor Dearg.

Although not large yet, there definitely some cornices about.

Aonach Beag. There was some erosion of the snow pack from the top of the slopes on the left, but there was plenty of soft snow remaining.
