Clearing up through the afternoon

28th December 2016

Low cloud meant for poor visibility while I was on the hill today. It was however dry. Although the snowpack was thawing, this thaw is very gentle due to the fact that the temperature was couple of degrees above freezing and it was generally dry. The snowfall around Christmas has started to fill in sheltered slopes and gullies, but we could do with a bit more.

The winching tower above back track on Aonach Mor.

Aonach Mor later in the afternoon when the cloud lifted a bit. There is more snow in the back course than on the North side of the hill shown here.
