More fresh snow and sunshine

9th March 2016

Poor visibility over the summits this morning, clearing early afternoon (just as I got off the hill). Yesterdays fresh snow and wind have formed fresh instabilities, mainly on scarp slopes, which have been exposed to more snow redistribution. Fresh snowfall after the wind dropped (about 11pm last night) has also given a good covering of fresh soft snow on many aspects.

Looking along the crown wall from a ski triggered release at around 1100m on an East aspect. Note the multiple layers. This was on the scarp slope just beneath the cornice
