Mid level Inversion

It was another warm, sunny day on the summits with a temperature inversion giving a layer of cloud about half way up the mountain which slowly got higher during the day. This layer corresponded to the height of the lowest temperatures as shown below.

Midday temperatures were

1200 metres 5.6° C

650 metres   2.9° C

100 metres   6.5° C
