Aonach Mor: some sunshine and avalanche debris.

Today there were periods of sunshine on Aonach Mor plateau, but also periods of thick mist and very poor visibility. Debris and crown walls from several natural avalanches that released yesterday or last night were visible on East and South-East aspects.

Along the East side of the Aonach Mor plateau we discovered this crack running for about 75 metres, some 8-10 metres back from the cornice edge, and running into the cornice at its southern end.

Along the East side of the Aonach Mor plateau we discovered this crack (just above the snow shovel) running for about 75 metres, some 8-10 metres back from the cornice edge, and at its southern end disappearing to the edge of the cornice. It was at least 75cm deep in places.
