Colder with snow showers.

28th January 2015

It cooled down rapidly overnight (the temperature dropped about 5°C in 2 hours). Given the amount of water around from the thaws on Sunday and Tuesday, this should encourage rapid ice formation. The old snowpack has frozen and is hard and icy. However, snow showers through the day were depositing fresh areas of windslab, particularly at the tops of gullies.
