After the storm

16th January 2015

I managed to get up onto the summits today to see how things were looking after the storms of the past few days. As expected areas exposed to the strong winds were scoured. However, in sheltered areas there were large areas of soft, poorly bonded windslab. I saw evidence of a couple of recent avalanches, and suspect I would have seen a fair bit more had the visibility had been better.
