A new season begins.

13th December 2019

It was a dry day with poor visibility at higher levels. There was just enough snow to make travelling on skis a good idea.

The deeper snow can be found in wind sheltered areas on mainly on North to East aspects above 900 metres.

We hope you all have a good, safe winter and would like to encourage you to report any avalanches or recent avalanche debris that you see at https://www.sais.gov.uk/report_avalanche/

We were caught skinning up the goose by the webcam today.

Poor visibility but reasonable skiing where there were deeper snow deposits.

The snow cover on the Aonach Mor plateau was thin.

The hills to the North and West got some sun in the afternoon.
