A changeable few days ahead.
30th January 2023
Today, I went in search of any fresh windslab that came down overnight. There were small isolated pockets, but nothing substantial. Another quick temperature rise tonight is followed by Gale force Westerly winds and snow showers tomorrow down to around 500m. This will most likely lead to fairly dense windslab developing on North-East to South-East aspects. details are in the forecast.
During the week we are forecast for windy, changeable conditions, and then milder conditions leading into the weekend.
The ice lines are building again nicely on the higher crags on Ben Nevis. As long as the milder conditions later in the week are fairly dry and we get a little bit of temperature cycling, winter climbing conditions will continue to slowly improve.

Nice Mike,
Fingers crossed we don’t get any more multi day thaws, and the lines get chance to stay and build.
