Mild and damp on Ben Nevis
4th March 2026
Today was mild and damp on Ben Nevis. An early start allowed some views before the drizzle turned to rain and the visibility became even poorer. Rain is due to continue through tonight and tomorrow morning before gradually turning to snow above around 800 metres as precipitation clears. A ridge of high pressure is forecast to bring more settled weather on Friday and Saturday.
All photos were taken early this morning so there will be less snow and ice than shown in the photos. Rock and ice fall will remain a hazard until the freezing level lowers, firm snow will also be a hazard particularly later on Thursday and through Friday and Saturday.
