Red sky in the morning…

1st February 2025

… shepherds warning! There was a red sky as I was having my breakfast this morning and the proverb proved fairly true with winds increasing to gale force on the summits, cloud thickening through the morning and dropping in the afternoon to envelop the higher summits. The temperature rose above the summits and this has helped the snowpack to consolidate.

The first 2 photos are taken from the roadside before the cloud thickened too much.

The remaining photos are from Ben Nevis, taken during the morning before the cloud dropped.

Looks more wintry than I thought it might. Good photos. Will be there from 8th to 15th. Hopefully it lasts.
