A dusting of snow

21st January 2025

A dusting of snow above around 900 metres in Lochaber today. This isn’t enough to create any avalanche hazard. There’s another dusting forecast for the next 24 hours which isn’t expected to make any significant difference.

The outlook is for a more significant band of mountain snow on Thursday followed by the next named storm, Storm Eowyn, on Friday and Saturday bringing some further snow along with storm force winds.

Aonach Mor, East aspect. Some old snow remaining, mainly around the crag apron in Coire an Lochan.

Aonach Mor, North aspect.

Low cloud was persistent over Ben Nevis

The Grey Corries

Cloud over Loch Eil and no snow on the lower hills.
