Wet again

4th February 2024

Today was very wet and windy again. Wetter than forecast with more snow than expected at higher elevations. Precipitation was snow above around 1000 metres this morning, although by the time I reached my high point of around that height it was definitely heavy rain. Rain gradually turned to snow below 1150 metres during the afternoon.

River levels were very high and may be even higher and more difficult if not impossible to cross tomorrow (Monday). Very heavy rain  at most levels tomorrow with the possibility of wet snow on the highest summits.

Poor visibility means only a few photos today.

Carn Beag Dearg, my high point today. Rain by the time I arrived here. Recent snow deposits were saturated and thawing.

Looking up the Alt a Mhuilinn, not much to see today.

Looking the other way over Fort William and down Loch Eil.

Crossing the Alt a Mhuilinn would have been difficult today, even more so tomorrow.
