Another sunny day

8th April 2023

It was a dry, sunny day with strong South-Easterly winds. Cloud on the higher summits this morning cleared in the afternoon.

The snowpack became firm overnight and softened during the day where in the sun. Good snowpack stability in all locations.

Orographic cloud on Aonach Mor this morning. This cleared later in the day.

Glide cracks in Coire an Lochan, Aonach Mor. These can sometimes be a sign that full depth avalanches are likely. These are very hard to predict but are not expected in this location in the near future.

The icy surface on the lochan in Coire an Lochan is slowly melting.
