Thawing

30th November 2021

It was a mild day with the summit temperature on Aonach Mor peaking at 4.4C today. Most of the recent snow has melted, leaving only isolated patches.

The good news is that the temperature has been dropping since midday and is forecast to carry on dropping with the freezing level reaching 400 metres tomorrow afternoon. The rain will turn to snow on the hills before dying out to give a dry day tomorrow.

Snow patches on the East flank of Carn Mor Dearg.

If you look really hard you can see some snow in Number 5 Gully.

Ice melting quickly on the CIC Cascades.

Most of the recent snow was heading for the sea today.
