A good freeze

23rd April 2016

Summit temperatures were around -4°C overnight and today resulting in the snowpack being frozen hard at all levels. A little softening was happening in the lowest patches of snow this afternoon.

A little fresh snow is forecast for tonight with cold temperatures, mainly Northerly winds and further snow showers throughout the coming week. No avalanche forecasts will be issued this week but Lochaber and Northern Cairngorm areas will be forecasting again next weekend.
