13th December 2014

Not great, but theres plenty of snow around if you don’t mind hiking up for it. Plenty of unstable windslab as well!

    Hi,
Can you tell me if any old snow patches managed to survive from last winter 2013/14 to the beginnings of this winter in the Nevis area?

    Thanks,
    Paul.

Yes, several snow patched survived. On Ben Nevis, a small patch survived at the base of zero gully, larger patches at the base of Point Five gully (which is just about visible on one of the photos on Sundays blog) and Tower scoop, and a couple of small ones in Coire na Ciste. Several patches also survived on Aonach Mor and Aonach Beag.
