This blog is intended to provide hazard and mountain condition information to help plan safer mountain trips.
Despite starting off quite cloudy, it cleared up nicely around 11am. Colder conditions overnight had frozen the snowpack. However, it did start to soften during the day. There was plenty of evidence of cornice collapse on Aonach Mor. These likely occurred on Monday night when it started to thaw. There are plenty of cornices remaining which will be prone to collapse when the thaw resumes.
