Number Five Gully Avalanche
11th March 2015
After yesterdays sunshine, it was back to wind and rain/snow today. There had been a large natural avalanche in Number 5 Gully on Ben Nevis, this probably came down in the mild wet conditions on Saturday afternoon/evening. I think it is the biggest avalanche I have seen in this location.

That’s the biggest one I’ve seen out of Number Five Gully too. It’s interesting how widely the debris spreads out after exiting the gully. The crown wall high up in the gully was quite obvious on Tuesday, zig-zaging down the gully.
