Sunshine but still windy

6th April 2026

It was a dry and sunny day but winds were strong from the South-South-West. There is breakable crust in some places and windslab in others. the temperature was slowly rising through the day.

Tomorrow is looking mainly dry and windy too but very mild with the freezing level around 2800 metres.

Looking up Glen Nevis to Sgurr a’ Mhaim in the Mamores. Winter in the mountains, spring in the glen.

Some ski and snowboard tourers have been making the most of good snow conditions at Nevis Range.

Rainfall in Glen Nevis for the last year. Each month of winter has been drier than average with the exception of March which was the wettest month in the last year.
The last year has been mostly dry too with more than average rainfall in only 3 months.
