Carn Mor Dearg
7th March 2026
A dry but windy day. It was a bit milder than expected, with the freezing level rising to around 1200 metres. However, the air was relatively dry which reduced the wet bulb temperature and prevented significant thawing of the snowpack. Above about 1000 metres it remained quite firm. Lots of people out walking on Carn Mor Dearg, and from what I have heard lots of climbers out on Ben Nevis. A bit cloudier tomorrow, but in general not very much change is expected.
Carn Dearg Meadhonach. A crown wall can be seen running diagonally down leftwards just below the cornice at the back of the bowl. However, this was not recent, it probably occurred late February.
