Windy and wet

12th January 2026

It was a very windy wet day, with the freezing level around 1100m. Cloud didn’t give me the opportunity to see high onto Aonach Mor or Ben Nevis, but there has been significant snow loss.

Tomorrow is forecast to be colder with the freezing level lowering to around 500m during the day. Snow showers will deposit fresh unstable windslab mainly on NW-N-E aspects above 900m.
