A Clear Day

12th December 2025

Finally got a clear day today which allowed a bit of a look around to see what had survived the thaw. The old snow is very hard and icy. There was a dusting of fresh snow, but deposits were not significant. Looks like a brief respite weather wise before a return to less settled for the weekend.

Looking up the summit run. Despite the thaw it remains complete for most of it’s length.

Coire an Lochan.

There was a dusting fresh snow overnight, and as can be seen here at the top of Coire an Lochan, this was drifting in the wind. However, fresh deposits were generally very shallow.

The view over to Carn Mor Dearg and Ben Nevis beyond.

Looking South to Aonach Beag.
