Views from Aonach Beag

5th April 2025

The fine sunny weather continues in Lochaber. Todays observations were from Aonach Beag giving views across the Lochaber area. Little change in the remaining patchy snow, a gradual thaw continues. Many areas are now snow free, today it was straight forward to walk from Nevis Range to Aonach Beag without walking on snow, however there was snow around the coire rims to be careful of. Very similar conditions on the Mamores ridges and Grey corries. The only areas of snow that remain are in gullies and around corrie rims on North to East aspects above 1100 metres. These areas of snow are becoming firm overnight, softening where exposed to the sun during the day. Similar conditions are forecast for tomorrow. For our last daily forecast tomorrow photos will be of the remaining snow on Ben Nevis.
