Not Aonach Mòr
27th February 2025
A mainly dry day around Lochaber today with the exception of a few afternoon showers. Feeling very spring-like in the Glens but remaining fresh at higher elevations. Moderate winds from the West with the freezing level around 800 metres. The snow line is slowly creeping up the mountain and where cover is superficial and is exposed to direct sunlight, thawing is taking place. A hefty drop of photos today to show the general lay of the land in the LO SAIS area.
West aspects of Ben Nevis – I reckon the snow line was about 700 metres during the morning but wouldn’t be surprised if this creeps up in the full bore afternoon sun.
Sgùrr an lubhair (1001m).
An Gearanach (982m).
Stob Bàn (999m).
Aonach Beag (1234m).
It does appear that the local amphibians have decided that spring in the Glen has arrived.
I can’t take any credit for the following photos, let just say that for the SAIS Lochaber Team, it’s very much a team effort. First 3 are from the Ben and the 4th from the Grey Corries.
