Storm Eowyn

24th January 2025

Storm Eowyn brought strong winds and heavy snow today. Precipitation was lighter in the morning and turned to rain at lower levels as the freezing level rose to around 1100 metres around the middle of the day. Precipitation then turned back to snow above 600 metres and became much heavier as winds increased further in the afternoon. Photos today are from the warmer spell around the middle of the day before the heaviest snow arrived, expect a snowier picture tomorrow, with a significant windslab hazard as detailed in the report.
