Fresh snow

19th December 2024

Fresh snow fell overnight and continued through the day, with a thin covering at most levels above 450 metres. In most places the cover is superficial with deeper deposits round some coire rims and gully tops particularly where the older snowpack remains. Some new fragile cornices are developing. South-Westerly winds and further snowfall overnight before the freezing level rises tomorrow morning. Precipitation will turn to rain at most levels with snow likely to continue on the highest summits.
