Another freeze thaw cycle

20th December 2024

After a brief cold spell yesterday heavy precipitation this morning was rain at most levels. After a significant thaw the temperature is dropping again, the freezing level will rise above the summits once again at around 3am tomorrow morning before dropping back down a few hours later. A very stormy day in prospect tomorrow with gusts of around 80mph on Ben Nevis summit and showers turning to snow above around 600 metres. Photos from both sides of Ben Nevis today.
