Cold and sunny

2nd February 2019

It was a cold, clear, sunny day with light North-Westerly winds. Nevis Range was very busy but once you got away from the lifts it was quieter although there were still quite a few climbers, walkers and ski tourers enjoying the good weather.

Very good visibility gave views to some of the more distant mountains. Apologies for the large number of pictures. It can make up for the poor visibility days when we don’t post any.

The Grey Corries.

Ben Nevis summit.

Cornices on Aonach Mor.

The view West from Aonach Mor.

Schiehallion was one of the more distant mountains visible today.

You know it’s a clear day when the Rum Cuillin are visible.

Cornice on Easy Gully, Aonach Mor.

Some climbers descending Easy Gully, Aonach Mor. It was also skied later in the day.

The ice on Aonach Beag still looking thin.

Good amounts of snow have accumulated in sheltered spots such as here between the snow fences.

The crown wall from an avalanche that occurred a few days ago in Summit Gully, Aonach Mor.

…and the debris.

Never apologise for posting ‘too many’ photos – specially on a day like yesterday! Great shots. Thanks
