The sheep think it’s summer

11th January 2019

It was another mild day with the freezing level above the summits. The sheep seem to think it’s summer and are moving up the mountains onto ground that would often be snow covered at this time of year. A few patches of snow were visible below the cloud level and all visible rock was black.

A new stile has been built over the fence on the East side the Allt a’ Mhuilinn at NN148749. This will be useful for anyone descending to the North Face car park from Lochan Meall an t-Suidhe (the Half-way Lochan) when the Allt a’ Mhuilinn is in spate and difficult to cross. After crossing the stile there is a bridge around 300 metres further downstream.
