Busy day on the Ben

Not the best of days on the Ben, especially lower down. Wet snow until you got to around 900m. A surprising number of people out climbing despite the weather.

Mystery Skis
Todays mystery was a pair of seemingly abandoned skis below the CIC Hut. Ski tracks leading up to them and foot prints heading away. Looks like they left the skis just above snow line on the way UP the hill?? 2 skis and 1 skin left behind. It was a nostalgic moment for me as I haven’t seen a pair of Dynastar Yeti skis and Silvretta 400 bindings for over 20 yearsâ¦.

Those are my partner Peter’s skis. He’s staying in the CIC hut. One person’s ‘abandoned’ is obviously somebody else’s ‘leave them here for later’. ;)
