Continued Thaw

14th April 2022

The weather stayed mild today with thaw of the snowpack continuing and remaining cornices prone to collapse.  Many summits remained in the cloud for much of the day. There were a few light showers, which were rain at all levels.

Looking towards Carn Dearg Butress and the Castle Gullies during a clearing.

A cornice near the summit of Carn Dearg Meadhonach. The crack behind it is shown in the next picture. Some very large cornices remain and are prone to collapse in the mild conditions.
