Early Snow!

4th November 2020

Covid-19

The Scottish Avalanche Information Service would recommend that those wishing to enjoy the winter mountains refer to Mountaineering Scotland and Scottish Government advice regarding Covid-19 and outdoor activities.
Some shots from up the Ben today. There was a reasonable amount of fresh snow yesterday but rising temperatures overnight and during today have started the thaw, with the snow level rising from around 600m to 900m. Temperatures are expected to get warm again overnight so much of the existing snow will likely disappear
At this time of year, we are providing a part time service, depending on the amount of snow. We will be stopping now until the next significant snowfall

All these blogs/photos are very useful – many thanks – will refer to them often as winter 2020 progresses.
