A Wintery Storm Dennis

16th February 2020

After a mild and wet day yesterday it was back to winter conditions today. Very strong South-South-Westerly winds, heavy snow showers and a freezing level around 700 metres. The surface of the older snowpack was frozen, often with a breakable crust, and there were deep drifts of fresh windslab which contained a lot of graupel.

All pictures below from Ben Nevis.

The CIC Cascdes had several lines climbed today.
