Warm and wet

27th March 2018

There has been a change in the weather today with a brief spell of warm, wet weather. The temperature is dropping this afternoon and overnight and this will help consolidate the existing snowpack. Snow showers are expected over the mountains.

Carn Dearg buttress on the left with Castle Ridge on the right. There is still plenty ice on the CIC cascades but it is a bit too warm today for climbing at this height.

Looking into Coire na Ciste, Ben Nevis.

Still plenty of snow around the CIC hut.

North East Buttress, Ben Nevis disappearing into the clouds.

Many thanks to Off Beat Bikes for the use of an electric mountain bike to ease my journey up the mountain today.
