Ben Nevis Day.

5th February 2018

It was a Ben Nevis day for me today. There were a number of climbers out today, with teams spotted on classic ice routes such as The Orion Face, Hadrian’s Wall and Point Five Gully. The wind was getting up through the day, with some spindrift blowing around by the time I was on my way down. Avalanche debris was spotted below Number Five Gully, which probably came down a couple of days ago.

Ben Nevis.

Trident Buttress.

Looking up into Coire an Lochan.

A good example of the ductile deformation of snow as it very slowly slides off the roof of the CIC hut.
